Benjamin Brown (Joseph 2, John 1) Baptized July 3, 1720 dies March 4, 1802. He was chosen deacon Oct 14, 1768, was a member of the Committee of Correspondence, 1773, 1778; justice of the peace 1775; representative of the court, 1783-1786. On Dec.10,1787, Benjamin Brown was chosen delegate to the State convention to ratify the Constitution of the United States. At a town meeting held Apr.4, 1791, he was elected on a committee to present a memorial to Congress, asking them to erect a monument over the remains of the persons who were slain at Lexington on the 19th of April 1775, he was also in office as a selectman, assessor and town treasurer. and served in the militia during the revolutionary period. His will was dated May 1801,, probated Jan 3, 1802.
He married Dec 23, 1742 Sarah Reed, born Jan..3,1725, died Dec 24, 1774, daughter of William and Sarah Poulter.

1-Benjamin b. Jan 1, 1744 m. June 12 1769 Ester Whittemore of Lexington. They were dismissed together to the church at Templeton. Apr 26,1772 in that part of that town since Phillipston.

6. Soloman b. Jan 15, 1757. Having been to market at Boston on the Apr, 18th, 1775, he returned late int he afternoon and informed Sarg. Munroe that he had seen nine British officers in blue greatcoats, passing them leisurely on the road. It was he who first fired on the British from the Buckman tavern on the fateful morning.
